All websites are built using WordPress and, predominately, the Divi Theme. I choose to work with the Divi Theme more often than not because it allows the most flexibility in terms of building out your site with the specs you give me. There is also a wide variety of Child Themes that come packaged to work with Divi ~ I’ve gone that route, as well.
Because mobile friendly websites rank higher and attract more users, I craft websites that look great and work well no matter the screen size. If you need help with hosting solutions and site transfers those are also services I can provide. I offer an hour of free consultation so that I can ask some pertinent questions about what you need, and it allows you to ask me as many questions as you may have. Once I understand the scope of your project, I will draft up an initial bid so you will have some idea of the time and investment it will take to complete your web design.
Does your current website need a facelift? Technology changes so quickly – it’s hard to keep everything current. I’d love to take a look at your current site, hear your ideas about moving forward, and discuss any concerns you may have.
Editing and Proofing
I have a freakishly keen eye for finding any typos and/or grammatical challenges in your content. I blame this on my many years of doing desktop publishing where my left brain never got a break. If you find that you need any proofreading or editing services, I’d be happy to help.
Here is the breakdown of the maintenance package I offer.
For $19.99/month you get the following:
- WordPress core updates – checked weekly
- Divi Theme updates – checked weekly
- Plugin updates – checked weekly
- Weekly functionality checks (performance, page speed, security, optimization, etc.)
- One simple edit to your site each month (things like small content changes, image updates, etc.)
- Full site backup – once a month (if your host doesn’t provide this)
- A monthly report that shows all of the work that has been done
Clients are billed quarterly at $59.97. An invoice is sent at the beginning of each quarter to serve as a reminder.
Clients can also choose to pay annually, if they so desire.
If a maintenance package isn’t what you are looking for and you’d rather contact me on an as-needed basis, my rate is $60/hour, with a minimum of 2 hours.
“I am beyond thrilled with my newly designed website! it is more beautiful and has more functionality than I ever imagined! Lori is an absolute pleasure to work with. She is professional, efficient, thorough, and creative. It is evident Lori loves creating websites and that comes through in her work. I am thrilled that Electric Guava Designs not only created my new site, but will be maintaining it as well. “
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are just a few of the most frequently asked questions I receive when working with a new client.
How much will it cost?
This is usually the biggest question on a clients’ mind. Here’s what I can tell you…I won’t know the price tag until you and I have a discussion about what you need in a website. There is no way, realistically, that I could give you a bid off the top of my head when I don’t have a clue what you are looking for. It’s not just about how many pages you need, or what kind of functionality you want, or if you have images and content available. There are also other factors – like whether or not you need help with a new hosting site, whether you need a current site transferred to a new host, whether you want to be taught how to maintain the site yourself, or whether you prefer a maintenance package. That’s why I offer you a free hour of consultation so that we can discuss all your needs. And THEN I can lay out the scope of the project, draft up a quote and send it off to you.
How long will it take?
From my perspective, once I have a signed contract and a 50% deposit, I begin working on your site right away. However, I can only go as fast as you are willing to go – in other words, how often will you be available to check-in on the progress of the site? Will you need to make any changes to the scope of the project along the way? If you, the client, aren’t available to approve certain milestones, my work on the site has to slow down until a green light has been given to continue on.
I’m a fast, efficient web designer and will do everything possible to come in on time and on budget – I’ll need your help to make that happen.
Do you have a maintenance package?
Can you help with web hosting?
Having said that, there are some companies that I will absolutely steer you away from, and some that I would highly recommend. I can even get you a discounted price with my favorite host to get you started, which always helps your bottom line.
